Caught After Curfew

Jane Wilde snuck in surreptitiously past curfew, being careful to silence her clacking heels to evade discovery by her blended family. While stealthily making her way to her quarters, a glimmer from her stepsister's (Jessie Saint) chamber captivates her attention. In a quandary, she contemplates sneaking by so as not to draw the attention of their stepmother (Helena Locke), when a medley of voices reaches her ears. Jane peers cautiously through the entrance and is puzzled by the sight of Jessie and Helena engaged in an intimate conversation. As she considers withdrawing, her senses are jolted as she witnesses a sudden amorous exchange between Jessie and Helena. Unable to resist her curiosity and envy, she lingers clandestinely, observing their amorous gestures.Finally yielding to the inflamed desires and envy within, Jane forcefully ingressess the chamber and confronts both Helena and Jessie. Amid the escalating confrontation, Helena reproaches Jane for violating curfew, but in retaliation, Jane accuses Helena and Jessie of concealing their clandestine affair. Discord ensues as embroiled in crossfires of argument, emotions boil over, leading to Helena eventually confessing to the misdemeanors of that fateful evening. Recognizing Jane's pangs of jealousy and sorrow for being exiled toesides, Helena extends an olive branch, inviting her to partake in a conciliatory tryst to make reparations.
