Ava's got her four roommates plus Matty's girlfriend Sage locked in as constants, but everything else about her love life is chaos—straight girls and quick hookups with Lacey, Renee, two strangers in a filthy public bathroom. That beats chasing real romance. Then Greta hands Ava and her cast the play about Estelle and Bea, lovers from the 1950s who wrecked their own shot when Estelle chickened out. Ava steps into Estelle, her costar Shannon slides into Bea, and even though Shannon claims to be straight she sells those heated, heartbroken looks so fucking good that Ava starts getting hot under the collar for real. Rehearsals burn hotter every night. By opening week the stage pretend is crashing straight into Ava's chest and she's wondering if this flirt with a straight girl finally means something more than another notch and an exit.
