Ms. Branford, a high school educator, finds herself embroiled in a scandal after engaging in a romantic relationship with a student. As rumors spread, Ms. Branford is placed on an indefinite hiatus pending a school board inquiry. While languishing in isolation, she receives an unexpected visit from the student's father, Mr. Denver. Mr. Denver proposes a manipulation: in exchange for the student recanting her allegations, Ms. Branford must engage in a sexual encounter with him.
