Naughty Neighbor

Kristen Scott shows up at the new neighbors’ door, arms full of baked goods, and almost jumps when a girl her age, Sabina Rouge, opens up. Sabina’s smirk drips sarcasm. ‘Can I help you?’ Kristen stammers an apology and explains she just wanted to welcome the family. The second Sabina catches a whiff of those treats, her eyes go greedy. ‘Oooh, gimme,’ she demands, reaching out. Kristen yanks the plate back, laughing, saying they’re for everyone. Sabina grins, tells her the parents are out, but they’ll be home soon. She invites Kristen in to wait.
