Layover Lay

Hazel Moore and Zariah Aura drag their bags through the front door, still in their flight-attendant blues. They’ve just found out the next leg’s grounded till morning, every hotel’s jammed, and this rental was the last empty bed in town. Inside the bedroom they stop short—one king, two women, zero complaints. Their eyes lock, lips curl, and the knowing grin that passes between them says this isn’t the first time they’ve shared more than a flight schedule. Zariah drops her suitcase and runs a hand over the crisp comforter. “Too early to crash,” she says. Hazel laughs, already stepping close. “Guess we’ll have to find something to keep us busy.” They’re not thinking about sleep yet.
