Law-Abiding Citizen

Charlotte, also known as Charlie, is struggling to make ends meet and to improve her circumstances, but circumstances are not favorable for her. Regardless of how she attempts to evade her history, it persists in catching up with her. Upon being rejected for a job due to her past misconduct, she realizes that abiding by the law is not assisting her whatsoever. Turning to her former accomplice, Mia, she proposes a lucrative plan. That same evening, Charlie and Mia rendezvous to devise a dubious scheme to boost their income. Shedding light on her dire predicament, Charlie makes it clear these actions violate her probation terms, increasing the stakes but ultimately pushing her to take risks. Furthermore, given Mia's criminal past, association is dangerous. The tension escalates rapidly when Charlie’s corrupt supervising officer, Tony, arrives unexpectedly. In an impulsive move to deceive Tony, Charlie and Mia feign a romantic relationship, pretending they are a couple – although they are both quite heterosexual. To divert Tony's focus adequately, Charlie and Mia must go to extensive lengths in persuading him of the deceit.
