Emily (Nikole Nash) and her friend Val (Alexia Anders) are in the car on their way to Emily's house. When the topic of Emily's controlling stepbrother Ethan is brought up, Emily becomes defensive. Upon arriving at Emily's house, she reveals that there isn't an extra room for Val to stay in due to Ethan moving back home. Val jokingly states that she doesn't mind sharing the bed with Emily, reminiscing about their past sleepovers. As Ethan unexpectedly returns home, Emily appears tense and quickly fixes her appearance. Val notices this behavior and becomes suspicious. She observes Ethan's controlling demeanor towards Emily during their interactions. Val expresses her concerns to Emily, believing that Ethan is using his controlling tendencies for his own pleasure. However, Emily defends Ethan's actions and dismisses Val's suspicions. In an uncomfortable moment, Val catches Ethan watching her lotioning herself in the bedroom.
