Estranged Bedfellows

The scene opens with Evelyn nervously pacing the living room, constantly glancing at the door. Her step-daughter, Bella, enters cheerfully but becomes concerned when she sees Evelyn's agitation. Evelyn confesses she's anxious about meeting Ty, her new step-son and Bella's estranged step-brother. When Ty knocks on the door, Bella eagerly welcomes him, hugging him tightly with excitement. As Ty touches Bella intimately, Evelyn feels uncomfortable but keeps quiet. Ty gives Evelyn a mysterious smile, somewhat unsettling her. Later, Ty admits he's broke and starts flirting with Bella, making her uneasy. Evelyn interrupts, sending Bella away to talk alone with Ty.
