Ricky, also known by his alias Ricky Spanish, is a young individual endeavoring to chart his path in life. Unfortunately, his father John, or John Strong, perceives his actions as purposeful laziness. John firmly believes in the creed of relentless grind, a philosophy that starkly contrasts with Ricky’s mindset.

This fundamental difference becomes evident when observing how John's career-focused mentality takes a toll on Christie - formerly known as Christie Stevens - Ricky's stepmother. Christie, who has been a part of their family for an extensive period, experiences the brunt of John's neglect. She yearns for closeness with her spouse; however, work perpetually takes precedence in John's life.

Ricky harbors intense disdain witnessing how John mistreats Christie. Over time, this resentment simmers within him until he eventually seizes an opportune moment to act. After a heartbreaking encounter where John callously rebuffs Christie before prioritizing work commitments, Ricky bares his emotions to Christie.
