Like Mother, Like Daughter

A lady named Marlene is fluttering around the room, adjusting things anxiously, when her partner, Tom, comes up to her. He reassures her to relax and not stress out. Marlene is relieved, realizing her step-daughter Alyssa is almost there.

Alyssa arrives and things become uneasy. Marlene tries to make amends, but Alyssa is indifferent. Tom steps in and, to Marlene's surprise, Alyssa seems to prefer his company.

Later, Marlene tries bonding with Alyssa, but she acts coldly. Tom attempts to mediate, failing then another chance arises when Alyssa shows an unexpected interest in him. Overlapping sounds caught Marlene in the moment before she discovered Tom and Alyssa in a compromising situation.
