The car rolls up to the house and Senator Gregory is still talking about that charity dinner like it matters. Mrs. Gregory stares out the window, bored out of her skull. She knows the real privilege is how much time she gets alone while he’s gone. William’s at home when they walk in, eating cereal in his boxers like he owns the place. The second his father heads out for the airport, the air gets thick. Mrs. Gregory corners him on the couch, icy as hell. He’s been ghosting her messages and she wants her leads. William snaps—calls her a psycho, tells her to quit using him to rope in girls. She reminds him who pays for his lifestyle. They strike the same fucked-up deal they always do: one girl, one weekend, and the money starts flowing again. A few nights later he brings Anna home.
